TOBRAMYCIN+FLUOROMETHOLONE belongs to ophthalmic eye medications primarily used to treat bacterial eye infections and reduce swelling, itching, and redness. Conjunctivitis (pink eye) is a common bacterial eye infection associated with the inflammation or infection of the conjunctiva (white part of the eye) and the inner eyelid.

TOBRAMYCIN+FLUOROMETHOLONE is a combination of two drugs, namely: Tobramycin (antibiotic) and Fluorometholone (corticosteroid). Tobramycin belongs to the class of antibiotics that works by inhibiting the production of essential proteins that are necessary for bacteria to grow, multiply and increase in numbers. Thereby, it destroys bacteria. Fluorometholone belongs to the class of steroids that works by inhibiting the release of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause redness, itching, and swelling. Thereby, reduces the redness and swelling caused due to bacterial infections.

Use TOBRAMYCIN+FLUOROMETHOLONE as prescribed by your doctor. TOBRAMYCIN+FLUOROMETHOLONE is only for use in eyes. You are advised to use TOBRAMYCIN+FLUOROMETHOLONE for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience eye irritation, eye redness, itchy or swollen eyelids, mild burning or stinging sensation in the eye, or eye discomfort. Most of these side effects of TOBRAMYCIN+FLUOROMETHOLONE do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to TOBRAMYCIN+FLUOROMETHOLONE or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. TOBRAMYCIN+FLUOROMETHOLONE is not recommended for children below 1 year of age. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please inform your doctor before using TOBRAMYCIN+FLUOROMETHOLONE. Drive only if your vision is clear as TOBRAMYCIN+FLUOROMETHOLONE may cause temporary blurred vision immediately after applying. Directions for Use

TOBRAMYCIN+FLUOROMETHOLONE is for external use only. Wash your hands thoroughly before and after using TOBRAMYCIN+FLUOROMETHOLONE. Lie down and tilt your head backward. Pull your lower eyelid gently with your index finger to form a pocket. Instill the number of drops as advised by the doctor into the pocket of the lower eyelid. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes. Replace the outer cap after use. Do not touch the container’s tip to the eye, eyelids or surrounding areas as it may contaminate TOBRAMYCIN+FLUOROMETHOLONE.

You are not recommended to wear contact lenses while using TOBRAMYCIN+FLUOROMETHOLONE as it contains benzalkonium chloride, a preservative that changes the colour of the contact lens as it may be absorbed by soft contact lens. Benzalkonium chloride also causes irritation in the eye, especially if you have disorders of the cornea (transparent layer at the front of the eye) or dry eyes. Therefore, you are advised to remove contact lenses before applying TOBRAMYCIN+FLUOROMETHOLONE and reinsert after 15 minutes of using TOBRAMYCIN+FLUOROMETHOLONE. Also, inform your doctor if you experience pain, stinging or abnormal sensation in the eye after using TOBRAMYCIN+FLUOROMETHOLONE.

TOBRAMYCIN+FLUOROMETHOLONE may cause temporary blurred vision immediately after applying. Therefore, you are recommended to wait until your vision is clear before driving or operating machinery.

You are recommended to maintain a time gap of a minimum of 5 minutes between using TOBRAMYCIN+FLUOROMETHOLONE and other eye drops. However, please consult a doctor before using other medicines with TOBRAMYCIN+FLUOROMETHOLONE.

TOBRAMYCIN+FLUOROMETHOLONE is not used to treat fungal infection in the eye. TOBRAMYCIN+FLUOROMETHOLONE is only used to treat bacterial eye infections.

You are not recommended to stop using TOBRAMYCIN+FLUOROMETHOLONE without consulting your doctor as it may worsen the infection. Therefore, use TOBRAMYCIN+FLUOROMETHOLONE for as long as your doctor has prescribed it and if you experience any difficulty while taking TOBRAMYCIN+FLUOROMETHOLONE, please consult your doctor.
