About Fromelon-T Eye Drops 5 ml

Fromelon-T Eye Drops 5 ml belongs to ophthalmic eye medications primarily used to treat bacterial eye infections and reduce swelling, itching, and redness. Conjunctivitis (pink eye) is a common bacterial eye infection associated with the inflammation or infection of the conjunctiva (white part of the eye) and the inner eyelid.

Fromelon-T Eye Drops 5 ml is a combination of two drugs, namely: Tobramycin (antibiotic) and Fluorometholone (corticosteroid). Tobramycin belongs to the class of antibiotics that works by inhibiting the production of essential proteins that are necessary for bacteria to grow, multiply and increase in numbers. Thereby, it destroys bacteria. Fluorometholone belongs to the class of steroids that works by inhibiting the release of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause redness, itching, and swelling. Thereby, reduces the redness and swelling caused due to bacterial infections.

Use Fromelon-T Eye Drops 5 ml as prescribed by your doctor. Fromelon-T Eye Drops 5 ml is only for use in eyes. You are advised to use Fromelon-T Eye Drops 5 ml for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience eye irritation, eye redness, itchy or swollen eyelids, mild burning or stinging sensation in the eye, or eye discomfort. Most of these side effects of Fromelon-T Eye Drops 5 ml do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Fromelon-T Eye Drops 5 ml or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Fromelon-T Eye Drops 5 ml is not recommended for children below 1 year of age. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please inform your doctor before using Fromelon-T Eye Drops 5 ml. Drive only if your vision is clear as Fromelon-T Eye Drops 5 ml may cause temporary blurred vision immediately after applying. You are recommended to maintain a time gap of at least 5 minutes between using Fromelon-T Eye Drops 5 ml and other eye drops.

Directions for Use

Fromelon-T Eye Drops 5 ml is for external use only. Wash your hands thoroughly before and after using Fromelon-T Eye Drops 5 ml. Lie down and tilt your head backward. Pull your lower eyelid gently with your index finger to form a pocket. Instill the number of drops as advised by the doctor into the pocket of the lower eyelid. Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes. Replace the outer cap after use. Do not touch the container’s tip to the eye, eyelids or surrounding areas as it may contaminate Fromelon-T Eye Drops 5 ml.

Drug Interactions

Drug-Drug Interaction: Fromelon-T Eye Drops 5 ml may interact with anti-HIV drugs (cobicistat, ritonavir).

Drug-Food Interaction: No interactions found.

Drug-Disease Interaction: If you have Parkinson’s disease, myasthenia gravis (muscle weakness), glaucoma or cataracts, inform your doctor before using Fromelon-T Eye Drops 5 ml.

Diet & Lifestyle Advise

  • Sleep for a minimum of 6 to 8 hours to rejuvenate your eyes naturally.
  • Wash your eyes with clean water at least two to three times a day. Do not wash your eyes if you have undergone any eye surgery for at least 2 weeks.
  • Manage stress, eat healthily, drink plenty of water, exercise regularly, and get plenty of sleep.
  • Eat foods rich in Omega-3 fatty acids such as sardines, mackerel, tuna, salmon, trout, and omega-3 fatty acid supplements.
  • Cut down your coffee intake as it may increase pressure in the eye and replace coffee with green tea.
  • Maintain a diet rich in antioxidants such as dark-green leafy vegetables, whole grains, citrus fruits, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, etc.
  • Avoid consumption of processed foods such as high-fat meats, sugary foods, dairy products, and fast foods as they may increase inflammation.

  • Avoid wearing contact lenses while using Fromelon-T Eye Drops 5 ml as it may cause discolouration of soft contact lenses.
