Phenylephrine+dextromethorphan+cetirizine+menthol belongs to the class of medications called 'cough and cold preparations' primarily used to treat dry cough. In addition to this, it also helps to treat allergic symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes, sneezing, throat irritation. Cetirizine belongs to the class of antihistamines (antiallergic drugs) that works by blocking the action of histamine, a substance responsible for causing allergic reactions.  It helps relieve allergy symptoms such as sneezing, running nose, watery eyes, itching, swelling, congestion or stiffness. Phenylephrine helps in shrinking the blood vessels in the nasal passage, thereby reducing stuffy nose. Phenylephrine+dextromethorphan+cetirizine+menthol is available in liquid form (syrup).
