About DOXYCYCLINE+TINIDAZOLE

DOXYCYCLINE+TINIDAZOLE belongs to a class of medication called 'antibiotics' used to treat several bacterial infections of the urinary tract, vagina, skin, blood, nose, throat, gums, chest, and lungs. Also, DOXYCYCLINE+TINIDAZOLE may be used to treat infections such as giardiasis and amoebiasis (stomach infections), and trichomoniasis (genital infection) caused by protozoa. DOXYCYCLINE+TINIDAZOLE is a combination of two antibiotics, namely: Doxycycline and Tinidazole. Doxycycline works by inhibiting the production of essential proteins necessary for bacteria to grow, multiply and increase in numbers. Tinidazole works by damaging the DNA (genetic material) of bacteria and protozoa and inhibits the formation of new DNA essential for bacteria's survival. Thereby, it kills micro-organisms and prevents the spread of infection.

Bacterial infection: It is a condition in which harmful bacteria grow in the body and cause infection. It can target any part of the body and multiply very quickly. Bacteria come in three basic shapes, namely spherical, rod, or spiral-shaped. Bacteria may be gram-positive (have thick cell walls) or gram-negative (do not have cell walls).
