Aceclofenac+serratiopeptidase

About Aceclofenac+serratiopeptidase

Aceclofenac+serratiopeptidase belongs to a group of medicines called 'Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs' (NSAIDs) used to provide pain relief in various conditions including post-traumatic pain, low back pain, cervical pain, spondylitis, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis. Pain can be temporary (acute) or prolonged period (chronic) in nature. Acute pain is for a short time caused by damage to the tissues of the muscle, bone or organs. Chronic pain lasts for life long caused due to nerve damage, osteoarthritis and dental pain due to damage to the tooth nerve, infection, extraction or injury.

Aceclofenac+serratiopeptidase contains two medicines, namely Aceclofenac and Serratiopeptidase. Aceclofenac works by blocking the release of a chemical messenger called prostaglandin, produced by COX-2, responsible for pain, swelling and inflammation. On the other hand, Serratiopeptidase is a proteolytic enzyme that helps break the insoluble protein (fibrin) by-product of blood clot into smaller units. It also causes thinning of the fluids in the body due to injury, thereby making fluid drainage smoother in the swollen tissue. Together Aceclofenac+serratiopeptidase is effective for relieving pain, especially in joint condition.

You are advised to take Aceclofenac+serratiopeptidase for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical conditions. You may experience nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite (feeling not hungry), heartburn, stomach pain, indigestion, diarrhoea. Most of these side effects of Aceclofenac+serratiopeptidase do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

Do not take Aceclofenac+serratiopeptidase if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed by the doctor. Aceclofenac+serratiopeptidase may cause drowsiness and dizziness, so drive with caution. Aceclofenac+serratiopeptidase should not be given to children as safety and efficacy have not been established. Avoid consuming alcohol, and Aceclofenac+serratiopeptidase as it could lead to increased drowsiness and dizziness; it might also increase stomach bleeding risk. Aceclofenac+serratiopeptidase should not be given to children as the safety and effectiveness were not established.

Uses of Aceclofenac+serratiopeptidase

Musculoskeletal pain, Gout, Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis, Ankylosing spondylitis

Medicinal Benefits

Aceclofenac+serratiopeptidase is used to provide pain relief in various conditions including post-traumatic pain, low back pain, cervical pain, spondylitis (inflammation in spinal bones), osteoarthritis (lifelong joint pain and stiffness), rheumatoid arthritis (joint pain and damage throughout the body), and migraine. Aceclofenac+serratiopeptidase plays a vital role in reducing pain and inflammation by blocking the release of chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation. This helps in reducing mild to moderate pain and inflammation at the injured or damaged site. Serratiopeptidase is a proteolytic enzyme that helps break the insoluble protein (fibrin) by-product of blood clots into smaller units. It also causes thinning of the fluids in the body due to injury, thereby making fluid drainage smoother in the swollen tissue.

Extreme tissue pain and inflammation caused due to sprains, strains, trauma, or post-surgery may require a prolonged amount of time to heal. Osteoarthritis: This is a common type of arthritis in which the cartilage that cushions the bones' ends erodes due to wear and tear over time. Common symptoms are joint pain and stiffness.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA): It is an autoimmune disease in which the immune cells attack the joints and cause bone erosion leading to severe pain and swelling. It may lead to joint deformity if left untreated.

Ankylosing spondylitis: It is a type of arthritis in which inflammation is seen in the spine and large joints. It led to pain and stiffness in the back and affected joints.

Gout: An inflammatory condition in which uric acid deposits and crystallizes in the joints. It is characterized by acute, severe, and recurring pain attacks, especially at night; redness, and swelling in the affected joints.

FAQs

Aceclofenac+serratiopeptidase is a combination of two medicines that include aceclofenac and serratiopeptidase. Aceclofenac+serratiopeptidase contains ‘aceclofenac’ which works by blocking the release of a chemical messenger called prostaglandin, produced by COX-2 in the brain, responsible for pain, swelling, and inflammation. On the other hand, Aceclofenac+serratiopeptidase contains serratiopeptidase, which reduces swelling and inflammation through proteins' breakdown. Thus Aceclofenac+serratiopeptidase helps to relieve musculoskeletal pain and in various joints conditions.

Do not take Aceclofenac+serratiopeptidase for longer durations as it might increase the risk of heart problems and stomach bleeding. Do not exceed the dose and duration of treatment as prescribed by the doctor.

Diarrhea might be a side-effect of Aceclofenac+serratiopeptidase. Drink enough fluids and eat fiber-rich food if you experience diarrhea. If you find blood in stools (tarry stools) or if you experience excess diarrhea consult your doctor. Do not take anti-diarrheal medicine on your own.
