Aceclofenac+paracetamol+chlorzoxazone
About Aceclofenac+paracetamol+chlorzoxazone
Aceclofenac+chlorzoxazone+paracetamol is a combination drug that belongs to NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) or pain killers primarily used for pain relief and muscle relaxation. Muscle pain (myalgia) is widespread and generally refers to uncomfortable sensations in the muscles which can be due to illness, injury or excessive exercise. It can be continuous or can also occur at intervals.
Aceclofenac+chlorzoxazone+paracetamol contains three medicines, namely: Aceclofenac (pain killer), Paracetamol (fever reducer/mild pain reliever) and Chlorzoxazone (muscle relaxant). Aceclofenac and Paracetamol together work by blocking the effect of a natural chemical messenger called cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes that make another chemical (prostaglandins). These prostaglandins are produced at sites of damage or injury and cause inflammation and pain. On the other hand, Chlorzoxazone is a muscle relaxant that works by centrally acting on the spinal cord by depressing reflexes, thereby relieving pain and stiffness caused due to muscle strains and sprains.
Aceclofenac+chlorzoxazone+paracetamol can be taken with or without food as advised by your doctor for the best results. Do not stop taking Aceclofenac+chlorzoxazone+paracetamol even if you feel better to avoid any unpleasant side effects. Common side effects of Aceclofenac+chlorzoxazone+paracetamol include nausea, vomiting, heartburn, stomach pain, diarrhoea, and loss of appetite. Disease/Condition Glossary
Musculoskeletal pain: It is a pain of bones, muscles, the tissues connecting to muscle-muscle and bone-muscle (cartilage, tendon) and nerves which can be felt just in one area of the body, like low back pain. This type of pain can be felt throughout the body if widespread as in the case of fibromyalgia. The musculoskeletal pain can range from mild/moderate to severe enough, which is sufficient to interfere with your daily routine. It can short-lived (acute) as well as can continue for more than 3-6 months (chronic). The most common musculoskeletal pain includes muscle pain (myalgia) from an injury, spasm, infection, or cramp. Loss of blood flow to the muscle can be one of the cause for muscle pain and inflammation. Joint pain due to rheumatoid arthritis (immune disorder) and osteoarthritis can be another contributing factor in causing the pain. Another pain-inducing factor can be nerve compression pain due to high pressure on the nerves.
