About Zole F Lotion
Zole F Lotion is a dermatological combination medicine used to reduce swelling/inflammation, itching and redness caused due to certain fungal skin infections. Fungal infection is a skin disease in which a fungus attacks the tissue and cause infection. Fungal infections may be contagious (spread from one person to another).
Zole F Lotion is a combination of two drugs, namely: Fluocinolone acetonide (corticosteroid) and Miconazole (antifungal). Fluocinolone acetonide belongs to the class of corticosteroids that works by preventing the release of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause redness, itching and swelling. On the other hand, Miconazole belongs to the class of antifungals that works by causing holes in the fungal cell membranes thereby killing the fungi.
Zole F Lotion is only for external use. Use Zole F Lotion as prescribed. Your doctor will recommend how often you use Zole F Lotion based on your medical condition. Avoid contact of Zole F Lotion with nose, ears, mouth or eyes. In case Zole F Lotion comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly. Some people may experience dry skin, skin peeling, increased hair growth, pimples, patches of pale skin, itching, irritation or burning sensation at the site of application. Most of these side effects of Zole F Lotion do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
If you are known to be allergic to Zole F Lotion or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or a nursing mother, it is advised to consult a doctor before using Zole F Lotion. Do not use Zole F Lotion in more than prescribed doses, or for a prolonged time as it may cause adverse effects such as skin thinning, visible small veins or stretch marks. Avoid using Zole F Lotion for more than 5 days in children and on the face. Do not apply Zole F Lotion on open wounds, cuts, scrapes or damaged skin. Do not swallow Zole F Lotion. In case of accidental swallowing, contact nearby poison control centre or consult a doctor immediately. If you have rosacea (redness and often red, small, pus-filled bumps on the face), acne, perioral dermatitis (red, bumpy rash around the mouth), any skin infection, psoriasis, diabetes, liver or adrenal gland problems, inform your doctor before taking Zole F Lotion.
Uses of Zole F Lotion
Key Benefits
Zole F Lotion is a combination of two drugs, namely, Fluocinolone acetonide and Miconazole. Zole F Lotion is used to reduce swelling, itching and redness caused due to fungal skin infections. Fluocinolone acetonide is a corticosteroid that acts inside skin cells and inhibits the release of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause redness, itching and swelling. When the skin reacts to any allergens, such chemicals are released normally. The fungal cell membranes are essential for their survival as they prevent the entry of unwanted substances into the cells and stops the leakage of cell contents. Miconazole is an antifungal that causes holes in the fungal cell membranes and kills fungi. Thereby, clears fungal infection and provides relief from cracking, burning, scaling and itching of the skin caused due to infections.
