Zitfix-M Gel 25 gm belongs to the class of medicine known as an antibiotic. This combination medicine is primarily used to treat acne. Acne or acne vulgaris is a long-term skin problem caused when hair follicles become plugged with oil and dead skin cells. It leads to the formation of blackheads, whiteheads, pimples, oily skin and a scar on the uppermost layer of the skin (epidermis).
Zitfix-M Gel 25 gm is composed of two medicines namely: Metronidazole and Nicotinamide. Metronidazole kills parasites and anaerobic bacteria that are responsible for causing infections. It works by damaging their DNA. On the other hand, nicotinamide is a form of vitamin B. It exerts anti-inflammatory effects when applied to the skin and reduces swelling, redness and tenderness associated with acne. Together they effectively help in treating acne by preventing or stopping bacterial growth.
Use Zitfix-M Gel 25 gm as prescribed by your doctor. Your doctor will recommend how often you take Zitfix-M Gel 25 gm based on your medical condition. Some people may experience dry skin and application site reactions such as irritation, burning, redness, and itching). Most of these side effects of Zitfix-M Gel 25 gm do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
Zitfix-M Gel 25 gm should not be taken if you are allergic to Zitfix-M Gel 25 gm or any other contents present in it. Avoid unnecessary and prolonged use of Zitfix-M Gel 25 gm as it causes unpleasant side effects. If you are pregnant or a nursing mother, it is advised to consult a doctor before using Zitfix-M Gel 25 gm.
