Whitfield's Ointment 25 gm is a dermatological medication primarily used to treat eczema, psoriasis, skin irritation and inflammation caused by burns, insect bites, fungal infections. Eczema is a condition in which skin patches become inflamed, itchy, cracked, and rough. Psoriasis is a skin disorder in which skin cells multiply up to 10 times faster than usual, leading to skin build-up into bumpy (uneven) red patches covered with white scales. These commonly appear on the scalp, elbows, knees, and lower back. 

Whitfield's Ointment 25 gm is composed of two medicines: Salicylic acid and Benzoic acid. The burning sensation may usually last for five minutes after application.
