Vitcofol-HB Capsule 10's contains Elemental iron, folic acid (a form of vitamin B9) and Glycine. Elemental iron and folic acid increase red blood cells (RBC) and haemoglobin (a protein) production in the body. As a result, an adequate number of RBC are produced in the body so that body's each tissue gets sufficient supply of oxygen. Also, folic acid is necessary in pregnancy as it plays a role in the development of the brain and spinal cord in the unborn baby. Glycine is an amino acid that synthesizes proteins in the body. Additionally, it is also necessary for the healthy development of muscles, tissues and skeleton.

Vitcofol-HB Capsule 10's belongs to a class of medications called 'haematinics' primarily used to treat anemia (lack of blood) that occurs due to iron deficiency and chronic kidney disease. Also, Vitcofol-HB Capsule 10's is used to treat anaemia during pregnancy and lactation. Anaemia is a condition in which the body does not have enough red blood cells to carry the adequate oxygen required to various body tissues.
Vitcofol-HB Capsule 10's is a combination of three drugs, namely: Elemental iron, folic acid (a form of vitamin B9) and Glycine (amino acid).
