Varndic Gel 30 gm

Varndic Gel 30 gm belongs to the class of medications called 'Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs' (NSAID) used to relieve pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal disorders, strain, sprain, arthritis and low back pain. Musculoskeletal pain could occur due to arthritis, osteoporosis, fractures, dislocations, problems with the bone structure or injury to the bones, joints, tendons, muscles and ligaments. Osteoarthritis is a joint disease in which the two ends of the joints come together due to breakdown of a protective covering called cartilage. 

Varndic Gel 30 gm contains Diclofenac, Capsaicin, Methyl salicylate, Linseed, and Menthol. Diclofenac and Methyl salicylate are pain killers which work by blocking the effect of chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation. Capsaicin is a natural extract of chilli pepper which work by blocking the pain messengers to the nerves. Linseed oil possesses anti-inflammatory properties which inhibits inflammatory mediators like leukotrienes (LK), thereby reducing inflammation. Menthol is a soothing and cooling agent which provides a cooling sensation by dilating the blood vessels, followed by an analgesic effect. It also enhances the penetration of drugs. Together, Varndic Gel 30 gm helps provide relief from mild to moderate pain in various types of musculoskeletal and joint conditions. 

Varndic Gel 30 gm is for external use only. Take pea-sized amount onto your fingers and apply it on the affected areas. You are advised to use Varndic Gel 30 gm for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as application site reactions like itching, irritation, redness and burning sensation. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.

Varndic Gel 30 gm may increase the risk of fatal heart attack or stroke. So, if you have had any recent heart surgery, do not use Varndic Gel 30 gm. Varndic Gel 30 gm increases the chances of stomach ulcers and bleeding. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Varndic Gel 30 gm is not recommended for children below 14 years as safety and efficacy have not been established. Avoid or limit exposure to natural or artificial sunlight as Varndic Gel 30 gm may cause ultraviolet light-induced skin tumours. Do not take any other NSAIDs for pain relief along with Varndic Gel 30 gm unless prescribed.

Varndic Gel 30 gm is a combination of five drugs: Diclofenac, Capsaicin, Methyl salicylate, Linseed, and Menthol. Varndic Gel 30 gm is used to relieve pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal disorders, strain, sprain, arthritis, and low back pain. Diclofenac and Methyl salicylate work by blocking the effect of a chemical messenger known as cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes that make other chemical prostaglandins. By blocking the COX enzyme's effect, lesser prostaglandins are produced, which reduces mild to moderate pain and inflammation at the injured or damaged site. Capsaicin exerts an analgesic effect by blocking the pain messengers to the nerves. Linseed oil helps in reducing inflammation. Menthol provides a cooling sensation by dilating the blood vessels, followed by an analgesic effect. It also enhances the penetration of drugs. Together, Varndic Gel 30 gm helps in providing relief from pain and inflammation. 

Do not use Varndic Gel 30 gm if you are allergic to any of its contents, if you have/had severe heart problems, stomach ulcer or perforation, and bleeding problems such as bleeding from the stomach, intestine or brain, bypass surgery, heart attack, blood circulation problems or inflammation of intestines. Do not use Varndic Gel 30 gm if you experience asthma, urticaria or allergy after taking a pain killer. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Varndic Gel 30 gm is not recommended for children below 14 years as the safety and effectiveness have not been established. Stop taking Varndic Gel 30 gm and consult your doctor immediately if you have stomach pain or any signs of bleeding in the intestine or stomach, such as blood in stools. Do not take any other painkillers for pain relief along with Varndic Gel 30 gm unless prescribed. 

• Do not apply on open wounds, cuts, abrasions or infected wounds.
• Do not apply any bandages after application of Varndic Gel 30 gm unless suggested by your doctor.
