Vaginobact Tablet 10's belongs to a class of medication called anti-infectives used to treat vaginal infection. Vaginal infection occurs at the vagina and tissues at the opening of the vagina. This condition can cause inflammation, intense itchiness, and a thick, white discharge from the vagina. Vaginal infection caused by bacteria, yeast, and trichomoniasis.
Vaginobact Tablet 10's is a combination of three drugs, namely: Azithromycin (antibiotic), Fluconazole (antifungal), and Ornidazole (antiprotozoal). Azithromycin stops bacterial growth by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. The fungal cell membranes are essential for their survival as they prevent the entry of unwanted substances into the cells and stops the leakage of cell contents. Fluconazole belongs to the class of antifungals that works by damaging the fungal cell membranes and kills fungi. Ornidazole belongs to the class of antiprotozoals that works by damaging the DNA (genetic material) of bacteria and protozoa and inhibits the formation of new DNA. Thereby, kills micro-organisms and clears the infection.
