FAQs

Twin Tel Ch 12.5 Tablet contains Chlorthalidone, Cilnidipine and Telmisartan. Chlorthalidone is a diuretic (water tablet) that increases the removal of excess water and certain salts such as sodium and potassium from the blood. This removal of water from blood reduces the fluid volume circulating through blood vessels and improves blood flow. Cilnidipine and Telmisartan relaxes and widens blood vessels. Thus, Twin Tel Ch 12.5 Tablet lowers high blood pressure and reduces the risk of stroke, heart attack, or other heart problems.
You are not recommended to take ibuprofen with Twin Tel Ch 12.5 Tablet as it may reduce the effect of Twin Tel Ch 12.5 Tablet and increase the risk of impaired kidney function. However, if you experience loss of appetite, sudden weight loss or weight gain, weakness, muscle cramps, vomiting, nausea, decreased or increased urination, irregular heart rhythm, and fluid retention, please consult a doctor immediately. If you are supposed to use these medicines together, you are advised to contact your doctor so that the dose may be adjusted to use safely.
Twin Tel Ch 12.5 Tablet may increase potassium levels in the blood. Therefore, it is recommended to avoid intake of potassium supplements and foods that are rich in potassium such as bananas, sweet potatoes, nuts, and noni juice with Twin Tel Ch 12.5 Tablet as it may result in hyperkalaemia (high levels of potassium in the blood) and cause severe adverse effects such as irregular heartbeat, muscle paralysis, and kidney failure.
Twin Tel Ch 12.5 Tablet may cause dizziness in some patients. Therefore, if you feel dizzy after taking Twin Tel Ch 12.5 Tablet, avoid driving or operating heavy machinery.
You are not recommended to stop taking Twin Tel Ch 12.5 Tablet without consulting your doctor even if you find symptomatic relief as it may worsen the condition. Therefore, take Twin Tel Ch 12.5 Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it, and if you experience any difficulty while using Twin Tel Ch 12.5 Tablet, please consult your doctor.

About Twin Tel Ch 12.5 Tablet

Twin Tel Ch 12.5 Tablet belongs to a group of medicines called antihypertensives used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) and reduce the risk of heart attack or stroke in adults. Hypertension is a condition in which the force of blood against the artery walls is very high. It will be an addition to the workload of the heart and arteries.

Twin Tel Ch 12.5 Tablet is a combination of three drugs, namely: Chlorthalidone (diuretic), Cilnidipine (calcium channel blocker), and Telmisartan (angiotensin II receptor blocker). Chlorthalidone belongs to the class of diuretics (water tablets) that works by increasing the removal of excess water and certain salts such as sodium and potassium from the blood. This removal of water from blood reduces the fluid volume circulating through blood vessels and improves blood flow. Cilnidipine is a calcium channel blocker that acts on muscle cells in the artery walls and relaxes muscle cells. Thereby, it relaxes and widens arteries (blood vessels) and improves the blood flow and oxygen supply to the heart. Telmisartan works by blocking a hormone called angiotensin II in the body that causes the narrowing of blood vessels leading to high blood pressure. Thereby, Twin Tel Ch 12.5 Tablet widens and relaxes blood vessels. Thus, it lowers high blood pressure.

Take Twin Tel Ch 12.5 Tablet as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take Twin Tel Ch 12.5 Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience dizziness, headache, low blood pressure, stomach upset, or tiredness. Most of these side effects of Twin Tel Ch 12.5 Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist, please consult your doctor.
