Themibutol 1000mg Tablet 10's belongs to the group of medicines called anti-mycobacterial drugs primarily used to treat tuberculosis (TB). Tuberculosis is an infectious respiratory disease that affects the lungs but can also spread to other body parts such as the kidneys, brain, spine, and bone marrow. Themibutol 1000mg Tablet 10's along with other combination medicines is used to treat congenital tuberculosis (an infection occurring due to the encounter between the tuberculosis-infected mother and the child during the birth process).
Themibutol 1000mg Tablet 10's contains ethambutol which is an anti-tuberculosis medicine. It works by destroying the bacteria that is responsible for causing lung infection known as Tuberculosis (TB). The bacteria that causes the infection is Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
Themibutol 1000mg Tablet 10's may cause certain side effects such as indigestion, headache, nausea, and vomiting. These side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your paediatrician. Themibutol 1000mg Tablet 10's should be given as advised by your doctor. Do not give more than the prescribed dose to the child. Generally, the dose of the medicine will be decided by your paediatrician depending upon the type and severity of the infection. Finish the full course of treatment, and do not skip any doses even if your child starts feeling good.
Themibutol 1000mg Tablet 10's is intended for pediatric use only. Avoid giving Themibutol 1000mg Tablet 10's to your child if she/he is allergic to antibiotics.
