About Shiv-FE Syrup

Shiv-FE Syrup belongs to a class of medications called 'haematinics' primarily used to treat anaemia (lack of blood) that occurs mainly due to poor diet, poor absorption of food, or increased folate use in the body (in pregnancy). Anaemia is a condition in which the body does not have enough red blood cells for carrying adequate oxygen required to various body tissues.

Shiv-FE Syrup is a combination of two drugs: Ferrous ascorbate (iron supplement) and folic acid (a form of vitamin B9). Shiv-FE Syrup works by increasing red blood cells (RBC) and haemoglobin (a protein) production in the body. As a result, an adequate number of RBC is produced in the body, so that body's each tissue gets sufficient supply of oxygen.

Take Shiv-FE Syrup as advised by your doctor. In some cases, you may experience vomiting, nausea, stomach upset or dark coloured stool. Most of these side effects of Shiv-FE Syrup do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Shiv-FE Syrup or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult a doctor before using Shiv-FE Syrup . Shiv-FE Syrup should be used with caution in children and only if recommended by a doctor. If you have an allergy to any sugars, inform your doctor before taking Shiv-FE Syrup as it may contain lactose. Directions for Use

Although there is a possible interaction between Shiv-FE Syrup 200 ml and Capecitabine, you can use these medicines together if prescribed by the doctor. However, if you experience paleness of skin, diarrhea, severe nausea and vomiting, over-tiredness, dizziness, fainting, blood in the stools, unusual bleeding or bruising, fever, chills, body aches, flu-like symptoms, skin reactions, mouth ulcers or sores, and/or numbness, burning or tingling sensation in the hands and feet, contact a doctor. However, if you experience diarrhoea, paleness of skin, severe nausea and vomiting, over-tiredness, dizziness, fainting, blood in the stools, unusual bleeding or bruising, fever, chills, body pains, flu-like symptoms, skin reactions, mouth ulcers or sores, and/or numbness, burning or tingling in your hands and feet, contact your doctor.
