Serra-A Tablet 10's

Serra-A Tablet 10's belongs to a group of medicines called 'Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs' (NSAIDs) used to provide pain relief in various conditions including post-traumatic pain, low back pain, cervical pain, spondylitis, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis. Pain can be temporary (acute) or prolonged period (chronic) in nature. Acute pain is for a short time caused by damage to the tissues of the muscle, bone or organs. Chronic pain lasts for life long caused due to nerve damage, osteoarthritis and dental pain due to damage to the tooth nerve, infection, extraction or injury. 

Serra-A Tablet 10's contains two medicines, namely Aceclofenac and Serratiopeptidase. Aceclofenac works by blocking the release of a chemical messenger called prostaglandin, produced by COX-2, responsible for pain, swelling and inflammation. On the other hand, Serratiopeptidase is a proteolytic enzyme that helps break the insoluble protein (fibrin) by-product of blood clot into smaller units. It also causes thinning of the fluids in the body due to injury, thereby making fluid drainage smoother in the swollen tissue. Together Serra-A Tablet 10's is effective for relieving pain, especially in joint condition. 

You are advised to take Serra-A Tablet 10's for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical conditions. You may experience nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite (feeling not hungry), heartburn, stomach pain, indigestion, diarrhoea. Most of these side effects of Serra-A Tablet 10's do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

Do not take Serra-A Tablet 10's if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed by the doctor. Serra-A Tablet 10's may cause drowsiness and dizziness, so drive with caution. Serra-A Tablet 10's should not be given to children as safety and efficacy have not been established. Avoid consuming alcohol, and Serra-A Tablet 10's as it could lead to increased drowsiness and dizziness; it might also increase stomach bleeding risk. Serra-A Tablet 10's should not be given to children as the safety and effectiveness were not established.

Do not take Serra-A Tablet 10's if you are allergic to Serra-A Tablet 10's or other painkillers. Serra-A Tablet 10's should not be taken in the conditions like stomach ulcers, bleeding problems, clotting problems, or severe heart, liver, or kidney problems. Inform your doctor before taking Serra-A Tablet 10's if you have or had disorders of the stomach, blood circulation problems to the brain, asthma, angioedema (swelling under the skin), skin rashes, diabetes, high blood pressure, auto-immune diseases, and connective tissue diseases. Stop taking Serra-A Tablet 10's and consult your doctor immediately if you have stomach pain or any signs of bleeding in the intestine or stomach, such as blood in stools. Inform your doctor if you are recovering from major surgery or if you are more than 65 years of age. Do not take Serra-A Tablet 10's if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed. Serra-A Tablet 10's may cause drowsiness and dizziness, so drive only if you are alert. Serra-A Tablet 10's should not be given to children as safety has not been established. Avoid consuming alcohol along with Serra-A Tablet 10's as it could lead to increased drowsiness and can increase the risk of stomach bleeding.

Drug-Drug Interaction: Serra-A Tablet 10's may have interaction with pain killers (aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, celecoxib, etoricoxib), anti-depressants (citalopram, escitalopram, fluoxetine, fluvoxamine, paroxetine, sertraline, lithium), cardiac glycoside (digoxin), anti-hypertensives (enalapril, lisinopril, losartan, candesartan, hydralazine, methyldopa, clonidine, moxonidine, propranolol), blood thinners (warfarin, heparin, clopidogrel), anti-rheumatoid (methotrexate), steroids (mifepristone).

Drug-Food Interaction: Drinking alcohol should be avoided while taking Serra-A Tablet 10's as it can cause unpleasant effects.

Drug-Disease Interaction: Serra-A Tablet 10's should be used with caution in patients with stomach ulcers or bleeding, severe kidney disease, liver diseases, and colitis (inflammation of the large intestine).

• Physical activity helps in strengthening muscles and relieves joint stiffness. Gentle activities like 20-30minutes of walking or swimming would be helpful.
• Performing yoga may also help in improving joint flexibility and pain management.
• Maintain a healthy weight by performing regular low-strain exercises and eating healthy food.
• Get adequate sleep as resting the muscles can help in reducing inflammation and swelling.
• Follow heat or cold therapy, apply a cold or hot compress on the joints for 15-20minutes regularly.
• De-stress yourself by meditating, reading books, taking a warm bubble bath, or listen to soothing music.
• Acupuncture, massage, and physical therapy may also be helpful.
• Eat food rich in antioxidants such as berries, spinach, kidney beans, dark chocolate, etc.
• Foods containing flavonoids help in reducing inflammation. These include soy, berries, broccoli, grapes, and green tea.
• Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption.
