Serenace Injection 1 ml

Serenace Injection 1 ml belongs to the class of drugs called antipsychotics used in the treatment of schizophrenia. Also, it is used to control motor and speech tics of Tourette’s disorder. Schizophrenia affects the ability of a person to feel, think and behave clearly. Tourette's syndrome is a mental disorder characterized by uncontrollable, repetitive movements or unwanted sounds (tics). 

Serenace Injection 1 ml contains Haloperidol which blocks the dopamine receptors in the brain, preventing its overactivity, thereby controlling psychotic illnesses and improving disturbed thoughts, behaviour and feelings in mental conditions such as schizophrenia.

Serenace Injection 1 ml will be administered by a healthcare professional; do not self-administer. Sometimes, Serenace Injection 1 ml may cause common side effects such as drowsiness, tremors, neck stiffness, nausea or vomiting, increased salivation, and weight gain. Most of these side effects of Serenace Injection 1 ml do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Haloperidol or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, inform your doctor before receiving Serenace Injection 1 ml . Serenace Injection 1 ml is not recommended for children. Dose adjustment may be required for elderly or physically unwell patients. Avoid driving until your doctor says it is safe, as Serenace Injection 1 ml may impair your physical or mental abilities required for driving. You are recommended to avoid alcohol consumption with Serenace Injection 1 ml as it may increase the effects of alcohol.

• Elderly patients (more than 65 years of age) with dementia-related psychosis treated with Serenace Injection 1 ml can be at an increased risk of death. 
• Serenace Injection 1 ml is not approved for the treatment of patients with dementia-related psychosis.
