Scabpic Lotion belongs to a class of drugs called ' Topical antiseptic' primarily used to treat wounds, cuts, minor burns and protect against infections. In addition to this, it is also used to treat scabies (A contagious, intensely itchy skin condition caused by a tiny, burrowing mite) and pediculosis (A condition in which tiny insects infest the scalp).
Scabpic Lotion contains Cetrimide and Gamma benzene hexachloride(lindane). Cetrimide has antiseptic, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties. Cetrimide destroys or damages the cell membranes of bacteria; this eventually results in the death of bacteria. Gamma benzene hexachloride(lindane) works by killing the lice and the eggs and mites of scabies.
The dose and duration will be prescribed by the doctor depending upon your medical condition. The most common side-effects of Scabpic Lotion are skin rash, burning, itching, and irritation of the skin, tingling, and numbness of the skin, dizziness in some cases. Most of these side effects of Scabpic Lotion do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
If you are allergic to Scabpic Lotion or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Scabpic Lotion is for external use only. Avoid contact of Scabpic Lotion with nose, ears, mouth, or eyes. In case Scabpic Lotion comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly. If you are pregnant or a nursing mother, please inform your doctor before taking Scabpic Lotion . Avoid using Scabpic Lotion in large amounts or use for a long time than prescribed as it does not give quick or better results but increase the risk of side effects. Scabpic Lotion is not recommended in seizure patients. Scabpic Lotion is used with caution in neurotoxicity.
