Relbow Mint Gel

Do not take Relbow Mint Gel if you are allergic to any of its contents, debilitated (very weak); if you have severe stomach pain, partially or fully blocked bowel. Inform your doctor before taking Relbow Mint Gel if you have low phosphate levels, high magnesium levels, kidney or liver problems, a low-phosphate diet or if you are taking antibiotics such as doxycycline, oxytetracycline, levofloxacin, ciprofloxacin. Avoid taking foods and drinks containing citrates with Relbow Mint Gel as it might lead to increased serum levels of aluminium which can be harmful. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Relbow Mint Gel should not be given to children as safety has not been established. Avoid consuming alcohol along with Relbow Mint Gel as it could lead to increased acidity. Relbow Mint Gel may cause dizziness and drowsiness; do not drive or operate machinery unless you are alert.

Relbow Mint Gel is a combination of three drugs: Aluminium hydroxide (antacid), magnesium hydroxide (antacid) and oxetacaine (local anaesthetic). Aluminium hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide work by neutralising excess stomach acid. Oxetacaine exerts a numbing effect, thereby providing relief from pain due to ulcers or acidic injury in the stomach.

Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.
