Pulmonext Kit
About Pulmonext Kit
Pulmonext Kit belongs to the class of medicines called antihypertensives, primarily used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (high blood pressure affecting arteries in the lungs). Pulmonary hypertension is defined as high blood pressure in the blood veins that supply the blood to the lungs (pulmonary arteries). It can affect the arteries of the lungs and the right side of the heart. The common symptoms of pulmonary hypertension are shortness of breath, dizziness, palpitations, and chest pressure.
Pulmonext Kit is a combination of two medications: ambrisentan and tadalafil. Tadalafil belongs to a class of drugs known as phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE5) inhibitors. It aids in treating pulmonary hypertension by relaxing blood vessels in the chest. This increases blood supply to the lungs while decreasing the workload on the heart. Ambrisentan belongs to a class of drugs known as 'endothelin receptor antagonists.' Ambrisentan prevents endothelin, a naturally occurring substance that constricts blood vessels and raises blood pressure. It relaxes the constricted pulmonary arteries and increases blood supply to the lungs, lowering blood pressure.
Pulmonext Kit can be taken with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water; do not crush, chew or break it. You are advised to take Pulmonext Kit for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, Pulmonext Kit can cause side effects like headache, flushing, blocked nose, palpitations, diarrhoea, nausea, indigestion, muscle aches and pain. These side effects are unfamiliar to everyone and vary from person to person. Please get in touch with your doctor if you experience any of the side effects persistently.
If you are allergic to any of the ingredients of Pulmonext Kit, please do not take it. Stopping Pulmonext Kit without consulting your doctor may aggravate your condition and increase your chances of future cardiac problems. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Pulmonext Kit causes drowsiness and dizziness, so drive only if you are alert. Pulmonext Kit should not be given to children as safety and effectiveness have not been established. Alcohol should not be consumed with Pulmonext Kit since it may raise the risk of low blood pressure. Keep your doctor up to date on your medical condition and medications to rule out any potential side effects.

Disease/Condition Glossary
Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension: It is referred to as high blood pressure in the blood vessels that carry blood from the heart to the lungs (the pulmonary arteries). It can affect the arteries of the lungs and the right side of the heart. The walls of the pulmonary arteries thicken and stiffen, making it difficult for blood to flow through. Because of the reduced blood flow, the right side of the heart has a harder time pumping blood through the arteries. The common symptoms of pulmonary hypertension are shortness of breath, dizziness, palpitations, and chest pressure. It can affect people of all ages, but it's more common in people who already have a heart or lung problem.
