About Pegawin Tablet
Pegawin Tablet is a combination of medicine that belongs to the class of medications called 'anticonvulsant' used for the management of neuropathic pain. Neuropathic pain is a chronic progressive nerve disease that causes nerve pain due to nerve damage or a malfunctioning nervous system. Symptoms of neuropathic pain include shooting, burning pain followed by tingling and numbness (loss of sensation). Neuropathic pain can be caused due to amputation of limbs, diabetic neuropathy (nerve damage due to excess blood sugar level), excessive alcohol intake (alcoholism) and cancer treatment via chemotherapy.
Pegawin Tablet is a combination of five drugs: Pregabalin (anticonvulsant), Methylcobalamin (vitamin B12), Benfotiamine (vitamin B1), Pyridoxine (vitamin B6) and Folic acid (vitamin B9). Pregabalin affects the chemicals in the brain that send pain signals to the nervous system thereby relieving nerve pain and lowers the risk of seizures (fits). Methylcobalamin and Pyridoxine help in the rejuvenation and protection of damaged nerve cells by producing a substance called myelin. Benfotiamine and Folic acid help in delivering essential nutrients to the nerves. Together, Pegawin Tablet provides relief from neuropathic pain.
