Pankreoflat Tablet

Pankreoflat Tablet belongs to a class of medicine called 'digestive enzymes' or 'pancreatic enzyme supplement' prescribed to treat indigestion and bloating due to pancreas problems. Pankreoflat Tablet is prescribed for people whose bodies do not make enough of their own enzymes to digest their food. Exocrine pancreatic insufficiency is the inability to digest food properly due to the pancreas' lack of a digestive enzyme. 

Pankreoflat Tablet is a combination of two drugs: Pancreatin (digestive enzyme) and Dimethicone (anti-flatulent). Pankreoflat Tablet contains Pancreatin which is a digestive enzyme that helps in the digestion of food. Pancreatin contains ‘pancreatin enzymes’ breakdown food and converts it into energy. On the other hand, Dimethicone works by decreasing the surface tension of gas bubbles, thereby facilitates the expulsion of gas through flatus or belching (burping). It also prevents the accumulation and formation of gas in the digestive tract.

Take Pankreoflat Tablet as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take Pankreoflat Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical conditions. You may experience nausea, stomach pain, diarrhoea, constipation, bloating. Most of these side effects of Pankreoflat Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

Inform your doctor before taking Pankreoflat Tablet if you have gout, asthma, cystic fibrosis (a disease that affects the lungs and digestive system), or any disease condition. Please also inform if you have a history of rapid onset of pancreatitis or worsening of a long-term difficulty with your pancreas. Pankreoflat Tablet might interfere with the absorption and reduce folic acid and iron; maintain a minimum gap between both. Consult your doctor before taking Pankreoflat Tablet if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Pankreoflat Tablet may cause dizziness, so drive with caution. Pankreoflat Tablet can be given to children if prescribed by the doctor; the dose depends upon the child’s age and body weight.

Pankreoflat Tablet might interfere with the absorption and reduce folic acid and iron; maintain a minimum gap between both. Frequent blood tests may be necessary to check your condition and know how long you need to take Pankreoflat Tablet .
