ORNICEF TABLET
About ORNICEF TABLET
ORNICEF TABLET belongs to the group of 'antibacterial medications,' primarily used to treat bacterial infections. A bacterial infection is a condition in which harmful bacteria enter, multiply and infect the body. They can target any part of the body and multiply very quickly. These infections vary from minor illnesses like sore throat and ear infections to severe brain infections like meningitis and encephalitis.
ORNICEF TABLET contains an antibiotic combination, Cefixime and Ornidazole, primarily used to treat bacterial infections. Cefixime binds to specific penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) located inside the bacterial cell wall, causing the inhibition of the third and last stage of bacterial cell wall synthesis, arresting cell wall assembly resulting in bacterial cell death. Ornidazole kills other infectious microorganisms in addition to bacteria by damaging their DNA, does preventing the bacteria to reproduce or repair by themselves.
In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, dizziness, tremors, headache, diarrhoea, stomach pain, flatulence. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.
Before starting ORNICEF TABLET, please inform your doctor if you have any allergy (against these antibiotics), kidney or liver problems. Do not take ORNICEF TABLET on your own as self-medication may lead to antibiotic-resistance in which antibiotics fail to act against specific bacterial infections. Consult your doctor before taking ORNICEF TABLET if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Avoid alcohol consumption while taking ORNICEF TABLET as it may cause increased dizziness. ORNICEF TABLET may cause dizziness and vision problems, so be cautious while driving. ORNICEF TABLET is not recommended for use in children.

Bacterial infection: It is a condition in which harmful bacteria enter, multiply, and infect the body. They can target any part of the body and multiply very quickly. These infections vary from minor illnesses like sore throat and ear infections to severe brain infections like meningitis and encephalitis. When you get infected with these germs, you can experience generalized symptoms, like fevers, chills and fatigue. Few harmful bacteria that commonly cause infections include Streptococcus, Staphylococcus and E. coli. Anyone can get a bacterial infection, but people with a weak immune system or taking immunosuppressive medicines like steroids are more prone to infections.
