Opthodex N Eye Drop

Opthodex N Eye Drop belongs to the combination of steroids and antibiotics primarily used to treat eye inflammation caused by uveitis, eye injury, chemical burns, radiation, or certain other conditions. Opthodex N Eye Drop is used when there is a risk of bacterial infection in or around the eye. Conjunctivitis (pink eye) is a common bacterial eye infection associated with the conjunctiva's inflammation or infection (white part of the eye) and the inner eyelid. 

Opthodex N Eye Drop is a combination of two drugs: Neomycin (antibiotic) and Dexamethasone (steroid). Neomycin belongs to the class of antibiotics that inhibits the production of essential proteins necessary for bacteria to grow, multiply and increase in numbers, thereby killing bacteria. On the other hand, Dexamethasone belongs to the class of steroids that inhibit the release of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause redness, itching, and swelling in the eyes. Thereby, it reduces redness and swelling caused due to bacterial infections.

Use Opthodex N Eye Drop as prescribed by your doctor. Opthodex N Eye Drop is only for external use. You are advised to use Opthodex N Eye Drop for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience irritation, redness, itching, burning or stinging sensation, the sensitivity of eyes to light, eyelid swelling, or itching. Most of these side effects of Opthodex N Eye Drop do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Opthodex N Eye Drop or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Opthodex N Eye Drop should be used in children only if prescribed by a doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please consult a doctor before taking Opthodex N Eye Drop. Drive only if your vision is clear as Opthodex N Eye Drop may cause temporary blurred vision immediately after applying in eyes. You are recommended to maintain a time gap of at least 5 minutes between using Opthodex N Eye Drop and other eye drops.

You are advised to remove soft contact lenses before using Opthodex N Eye Drop as it may cause discoloration of the soft contact lens. You are recommended to maintain a time gap of at least 5 minutes between using Opthodex N Eye Drop and other eye drops. Please do not touch the container's tip to the eye, eyelids, ear, or surrounding areas as it may contaminate Opthodex N Eye Drop. If you are using any other drops or remedies in the ear, inform your doctor before using Opthodex N Eye Drop. 

• Avoid wearing contact lenses while using Opthodex N Eye Drop as it may cause discoloration of soft contact lenses.
• If the infection persists or worsens after 5 days of using Opthodex N Eye Drop, please consult a doctor.
• You should not use Opthodex N Eye Drop if you have a viral or fungal infection in your eyes (including herpes simplex).

• Tell your doctor if you have ever had glaucoma, cataracts, or if you need cataract surgery, an allergic reaction to medicine like neomycin (such as kanamycin, paromomycin, streptomycin, or gentamicin).
