About Obetech 10 Tablet

Obetech 10 Tablet belongs to a group of medicines called Farnesoid X-receptor agonists used to treat primary biliary cirrhosis. Primary biliary cholangitis, also known as primary biliary cirrhosis, is an autoimmune disease caused by damage of bile ducts in the liver. Biliary cirrhosis causes a build-up of bile in the liver, which leads to liver damage.  
 
Obetech 10 Tablet contains ‘Obeticholic acid’, which helps improve liver functioning by reducing the production and build-up of bile in the liver, increases the removal of bile from the liver, and reduces inflammation, thereby helps treat primary biliary cirrhosis.
 
Take Obetech 10 Tablet as prescribed. In some cases, you may experience common side effects such as stomach pain, tiredness, dizziness, constipation, and palpitations. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.
 
Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Obetech 10 Tablet is not recommended for children and adolescents. Obetech 10 Tablet may cause dizziness, so drive with caution. It is unknown if alcohol interacts with Obetech 10 Tablet; consult your doctor if you have any concerns. Coadministration of Tizanidine and Obetech 10 Tablet can increase tizanidine's blood levels and risk of side effects.

How to manage the interaction:
Co-administration of Tizanidine and Obetech 10 Tablet can lead to an interaction, but it can be taken if your doctor advises. However, contact your doctor immediately if you experience drowsiness, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and irregular heart rhythm.
