Lincomycin and clindamycin are typically to blame. Antibacterial treatment disrupts the colon's normal flora, promoting the growth of C. difficile, whose toxins A and B contribute to the emergence of CDAD.

Novamox Drops 10 ml should be used with caution in patients with a history of gastrointestinal disease, particularly colitis (inflammation in the large intestine) and pseudomembranous colitis (generally characterized by severe, persistent diarrhoea and severe abdominal cramps and sometimes associated with the passage of blood and mucus).
