MY-HP Kit Tablet 1's

MY-HP Kit Tablet 1's belongs to a group of medicines called gastrointestinal agents which is used in the treatment of peptic ulcer disease caused by infection with a common type of bacteria called Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori). Peptic ulcers are sores (small, shallow wounds) that develop on the intestine and stomach's inner lining.

MY-HP Kit Tablet 1's is a combination of three drugs, namely: Pantoprazole, amoxicillin, and clarithromycin. Amoxicillin is bactericidal (kills bacteria) that works by preventing the formation of bacterial cell covering (protective cell wall) necessary for their survival, thereby preventing the growth of bacteria. Clarithromycin is a bacteriostatic antibiotic i.e., it stops the growth of bacteria but necessarily does not kill them. It works by inhibiting the protein synthesis process required for the growth of the bacterial cell. As a result, bacterial cells are not able to reproduce and grow. Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor that works by blocking the action of an enzyme called gastric proton pump, which is responsible for the production of acid in the stomach. Thereby, reduces the amount of acid produced in the stomach. Altogether, MY-HP Kit Tablet 1's helps in the treatment of peptic ulcer disease.

You are advised to take MY-HP Kit Tablet 1's for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, stomach pain, taste change, headache. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.

Inform your doctor before taking MY-HP Kit Tablet 1's if you have a history of liver disease, kidney disease, myasthenia gravis (neuromuscular disease). Do not take MY-HP Kit Tablet 1's if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed by the doctor. MY-HP Kit Tablet 1's causes drowsiness, so drive only if you are alert. MY-HP Kit Tablet 1's should not be given to children as safety has not been established. Avoid consuming alcohol along with MY-HP Kit Tablet 1's as it could lead to increased drowsiness and can elevate the production of stomach acid. Keep your doctor informed about all the medicines and your health condition to rule out any side-effects.

• Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption. Alcohol intake leads to increased production of stomach acid.
• Avoid foods such as high-fat food, spicy food, chocolates, citrus fruits, pineapple, tomato, onion, garlic, tea and soda.
• Avoid sitting continuously as it may trigger acidity. Take a break of 5minutes break every hour by doing brisk walking or stretching.

DRUG-DRUG INTERACTIONS: MY-HP Kit Tablet 1's may have interaction with medicines used to treat HIV (such as atazanavir, saquinavir, zidovudine), medicines used to treat fungal infections (such as fluconazole), medicines used to treat bacterial infections (such as itraconazole), medicines used to lower cholesterol level (such as atorvastatin), medicines help to stop blood clots (such as warfarin), and vitamin (vitamin b12).

DRUG-DISEASE INTERACTION: MY-HP Kit Tablet 1's may have interactions with gastrointestinal bleeding, diabetes, myasthenia gravis (neuromuscular disease), liver disease, bone fractures, hypomagnesemia (low levels of magnesium), and liver disease.

• Avoid foods such as high-fat food, spicy food, chocolates, citrus fruits, pineapple, tomato, onion, garlic, tea and soda.
• Avoid sitting continuously as it may trigger acidity. Take a break of 5minutes break every hour by doing brisk walking or stretching.

• Take MY-HP Kit Tablet 1's 1-hour prior food.
• Do not stop taking MY-HP Kit Tablet 1's on your own.  Stopping abruptly might cause the symptoms to reappear and will make the infection difficult to treat due to antibiotic resistance.
• Make sure you drink plenty of fluids when you are sick. This will, in general help you clear out the infection faster, protect you from dehydration.

• If you feel nauseous after taking MY-HP Kit Tablet 1's, stick to simple meals like khichdi, dal roti and other home-cooked meals. Avoid spicy and fatty food.

Peptic ulcers: Peptic ulcers are sores (small, shallow wounds) that develop on the lining of the stomach and intestine due to erosion of the stomach protective lining. Symptoms include nausea, changes in appetite, bloody or dark stools, unexplained weight loss, vomiting, and indigestion-like pain. The indigestion-like pain can be brief or may last for hours, one may experience more severe pain when the stomach is empty or right after eating. If the ulcer is untreated, then it may lead to several complications such as internal bleeding, peritonitis (ulcer bores a hole through the wall of the stomach or small intestine), and it may also cause pyloric stenosis (chronic inflammation in the lining of the stomach or duodenum). Taking prescribed medicines like MY-HP Kit Tablet 1's helps to relieve symptoms associated with peptic ulcer disease.
