Mucodyne Capsule belongs to the expectorant or mucolytic agent class. It helps treat respiratory tract conditions, including acute bronchitis, by relieving coughs that are marked by sputum. Mucodyne Capsule also prevents bacteria and viruses from adhering to human respiratory cells, which lowers the frequency of exacerbations linked to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Additionally, carbocisteine is used to treat cystic fibrosis and glue ear or otitis media with effusion.
Mucodyne Capsule contains Carbocisteine, a mucolytic agent (cough/sputum thinner). It works by making mucus (phlegm) less sticky. This makes the mucus easier to cough up.
Mucodyne Capsule may cause some common side effects like vomiting, feeling sick, diarrhoea, and epigastric discomfort (discomfort in the upper abdomen). Most of these side effects of Mucodyne Capsule do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if you notice any of these side effects persist or bother your child, consult your pediatrician.
Avoid using Mucodyne Capsule if your child is allergic to it. Inform the doctor about your child's entire medical history. Other drugs or supplements should not be combined with Mucodyne Capsule unless prescribed by a doctor. Do not give this medicine unless specified by the doctor.
