Bacterial infections are caused due to the multiplication of harmful bacteria inside or on the body. MONOTAX O 50MG SYRUP 30ML does not work against infections caused by the virus, including cold and flu.

MONOTAX O 50MG SYRUP 30ML contains 'Cefpodoxime', which is a broad-spectrum antibiotic effective against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. MONOTAX O 50MG SYRUP 30ML works by preventing the formation of bacterial cell covering (cell wall), which is necessary for their survival. Thereby, MONOTAX O 50MG SYRUP 30ML kills the bacteria and helps in treating and preventing the spread of bacterial infections.

In some cases, MONOTAX O 50MG SYRUP 30ML may cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea (watery or loose stool), abdominal pain, loss of appetite, bloating, skin rash and itching. Directions for Use

Tablet/capsule: Swallow the tablet/capsule as a whole with water; do not crush, chew or break it.Syrup/Suspension/Drops/Oral solution: Take the prescribed dose by mouth using the measuring cup/dosing syringe/dropper. Shake the bottle well before each use.Dry syrup: Check the label for directions before use. Shake the bottle well to loosen the powder, and add water up to the mark on the bottle and shake well. Take it as advised by the doctor.Dispersible tablet/Tablet DT: Check the label for directions before use. Disperse the tablet in the prescribed amount of water and swallow the contents. Do not crush, chew or swallow as a whole.

Diarrhoea is the common side effect of MONOTAX O 50MG SYRUP 30ML. Drink lots of water and eat non-spicy food if you experience diarrhoea. If you observe blood in stools (tarry stools) or have severe diarrhoea (vomiting or watery stool), immediately consult your doctor. Do not take anti-diarrheal medicine on your own.
