Minofed Injection

Minofed Injection belongs to the class of 'antibiotics', primarily used to treat bacterial infections. Bacterial infection occurs when harmful bacteria grow in the body and causes illness. It can infect any part of the body and multiply very quickly. 

Minofed Injection contains 'Minocycline, a tetracycline antibiotic.' It works by preventing the synthesis of bacterial proteins, the primary cursors for carrying out bacteria's vital functions. This process further inhibits bacterial growth.

Minofed Injection will be administered by a healthcare professional. Common side effects of Minofed Injection include stomach upset, tinnitus/ringing in the ear, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, headache, dizziness, light-headedness, pain, redness, and swelling at the injection site. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. If these side effects persist longer, please consult your doctor.

Let your doctor know if you have any kidney or liver diseases and allergic reactions to medicines. It is advised to consult your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before taking Minofed Injection. This medicine may interfere with your driving ability since it may cause light-headedness/dizziness; in such cases, please do not drive until you are alert. Avoid or limit alcohol consumption. Minofed Injection is not recommended in children below eight years of age.

Minofed Injection contains 'Minocycline,' an antibiotic that treats various bacterial infections affecting the eyes, ears, nose, throat, respiratory system (chest infections), skin (acne), prostate, and urinary tract. It works by preventing the synthesis of bacterial proteins, the primary cursors for carrying out bacteria's vital functions. Minofed Injection also effectively treats meningitis, acne, upper respiratory tract infections, Q fever or tick fever (bacterial infection caused by the bite of infected ticks), brucellosis (infection spread from animals), and psittacosis (infections spread from birds). It is also used to treat sexually transmitted diseases like syphilis and gonorrhoea.

Let your doctor know if you have any liver or kidney diseases and allergic reactions to tetracycline antibiotics. Minofed Injection may induce photosensitivity and make your skin more sensitive to the sun; hence apply sunscreen when you step out while being treated with Minofed Injection. Use of Minofed Injection during tooth development (the last half of pregnancy, infancy, and childhood under the age of 8 years) may cause permanent discolouration of the teeth. Please seek medical advice if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before taking Minofed Injection. This medicine may cause dizziness; hence drive or operate machinery only when you are alert. Minofed Injection may cause light-headedness; hence avoid or limit alcohol consumption. Minofed Injection is not recommended in children below eight years of age.

• Renal, hepatic, and blood function tests are advised during prolonged therapy to rule out any toxicity caused due to overdose of Minofed Injection. 
• Minofed Injection may interfere with certain laboratory tests like urine catecholamine levels; hence inform your doctor beforehand that you are using Minofed Injection before undergoing any examinations.
• Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhoea (CDAD) is reported during the usage of antibiotics like Minocycline. Please consult your doctor if you experience prolonged diarrhoea.
