Meva SR 200 Capsule 15's is a class of medicines called 'antispasmodic' (spasm and cramps reliever) agent primarily used to treat inflammatory bowel syndrome (IBS), stomach pain due to spasms, cramps, and bloating. Inflammatory bowel syndrome is an umbrella term describing complications that involve chronic inflammation of your digestive tract. Besides this, abdominal spasms are acute condition in which the abdominal muscles (abs), intestine, and stomach contract severely.
Meva SR 200 Capsule 15's contains ‘Mebeverine’ that works by blocking calcium channels and muscarinic receptors on the smooth muscle, which cause muscle contraction and pain sensation, thereby stopping sudden muscle contractions (spasms) and reducing abdominal pain caused due by spasms, cramps, and gas formation, bloating, and discomfort.
You are advised to take Meva SR 200 Capsule 15's for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical conditions. In some cases, you may experience skin rash. Let your doctor know if you use any prescription and non-prescription medications you are taking, including vitamins, and herbal drugs before starting Meva SR 200 Capsule 15's. This medicine contains lactose, so inform your doctor if you have an intolerance to any sugars. Meva SR 200 Capsule 15's also contains propylene glycol, which may cause alcohol-like symptoms, and the methyl parahydroxybenzoate which may cause delayed allergic reactions, mainly affecting the skin, inform your doctor immediately if you experience any allergic symptoms.
