Metocontin 15 mg Tablet 10's is an antiemetic medicine. It is used to treat nausea and vomiting (being sick) in infants and children. Besides this, it also helps in the treatment of indigestion. In children, vomiting is a symptom of milk intolerance or food allergy.
Metocontin 15 mg Tablet 10's contains metoclopramide which belongs to prokinetic agents. It works by blocking the messages between the chemoreceptor trigger zone (CTZ) and the vomiting centre in the brain. This helps prevent and treat nausea and vomiting.
Metocontin 15 mg Tablet 10's may cause dry mouth as a side effect. This can resolve over time. If this side effect worsens or bothers your child please consult your paediatrician. Metocontin 15 mg Tablet 10's should be given as advised by your doctor. Do not give more than the prescribed dose to the child. Metocontin 15 mg Tablet 10's can be given with or without food. The dose of the medicine will be decided by your paediatrician depending on the severity of the condition.
