Matiz SR Capsule 10's is a class of medicines called 'antispasmodic' (spasm and cramps reliever) agent primarily used to treat inflammatory bowel syndrome (IBS), stomach pain due to spasms, cramps, and bloating. Inflammatory bowel syndrome is an umbrella term describing complications that involve chronic inflammation of your digestive tract. Besides this, abdominal spasms are acute condition in which the abdominal muscles (abs), intestine, and stomach contract severely.
Matiz SR Capsule 10's contains ‘Mebeverine’ that works by blocking calcium channels and muscarinic receptors on the smooth muscle, which cause muscle contraction and pain sensation, thereby stopping sudden muscle contractions (spasms) and reducing abdominal pain caused due by spasms, cramps, and gas formation, bloating, and discomfort.
You are advised to take Matiz SR Capsule 10's for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical conditions. In some cases, you may experience skin rash. Most of the side effects of Matiz SR Capsule 10's do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor. Please inform your doctor immediately if you experience difficulty in breathing, or swelling of the face, neck, lips, tongue, or throat.
If you are known to be allergic to Matiz SR Capsule 10's or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Matiz SR Capsule 10's is not recommended for children and adolescents below 18 years of age. This medicine contains lactose and sucrose, so inform your doctor if you have an intolerance to any sugars. Do not take Matiz SR Capsule 10's if you are allergic to ‘Mebeverine’ or any other contents present in it. If you have had a history of acute porphyria (an enzyme deficiency in blood), heart disease, kidney disease, liver problems, and severe constipation, consult your doctor before taking Matiz SR Capsule 10's. Let your doctor know if you use any prescription and non-prescription medications you are taking, including vitamins, and herbal drugs before starting Matiz SR Capsule 10's. This medicine contains lactose, so inform your doctor if you have an intolerance to any sugars. Matiz SR Capsule 10's also contains propylene glycol, which may cause alcohol-like symptoms, and the methyl parahydroxybenzoate which may cause delayed allergic reactions, mainly affecting the skin, inform your doctor immediately if you experience any allergic symptoms. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, it is advised to consult a doctor before using Matiz SR Capsule 10's. Matiz SR Capsule 10's is not recommended for children and adolescents below 18 years of age.
