Matiz-I Sachet 5 gm

Matiz-I Sachet 5 gm is a class of medicines called 'antispasmodic' (spasm and cramps reliever) agent primarily used to treat inflammatory bowel syndrome (IBS), stomach pain due to spasm, cramps, bloating, and diarrhea or constipation. Inflammatory bowel syndrome is an umbrella term describing complications that involve chronic inflammation of your digestive tract. Besides this, abdominal spasms are the acute condition in which the abdominal muscles (abs), intestine, and stomach contract severely.

Matiz-I Sachet 5 gm is a combination of two medicines: Mebeverine (spasm and cramps reliever) and Ispaghula (laxative). Mebeverine works by blocking calcium channels and muscarinic receptors on the smooth muscle, which cause muscle contraction and pain sensation, thereby stopping sudden muscle contractions (spasms) and reducing abdominal pain caused by spasms, cramps, and gas formation, bloating, and discomfort. Ispaghula works by absorbing water and makes the stool soft and bulky, easier to pass.

Take Matiz-I Sachet 5 gm as prescribed by your doctor. Try to take the Matiz-I Sachet 5 gm 25-30 minutes before a meal at a fixed time for the best results. You are advised to take Matiz-I Sachet 5 gm for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical conditions. In some cases, you may experience skin rash. The side effects of Matiz-I Sachet 5 gm do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

If you are known to be allergic to Matiz-I Sachet 5 gm or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, it is advised to consult a doctor before using Matiz-I Sachet 5 gm. Matiz-I Sachet 5 gm is not recommended for children and adolescents below 18 years of age. Inform your doctor if you have porphyria (an enzyme deficiency in blood), heart, kidney, liver problems, and severe constipation.  This medicine contains lactose and sucrose, so inform your doctor if you have an intolerance to any sugars. Let your doctor know if you use any prescription and non-prescription medications you are taking, including vitamins, before starting Matiz-I Sachet 5 gm.

Matiz-I Sachet 5 gm is a combination of two drugs, namely; Mebeverine and Ispaghula used to reduce and relieve irritable bowel syndrome (symptoms include abdominal pain, cramping, bloating, diarrhea, or constipation) and abdominal spasmodic pain. Mebeverine is a spasm and cramps reliever that works by blocking calcium channels and muscarinic receptors on the smooth muscle, which cause muscle contraction and pain sensation, thereby stop sudden muscle contractions (spasms) and reduce abdominal pain caused due by spasm, cramps, and gas formation, bloating, and discomfort. On the other hand, Ispaghula is a laxative that absorbs water and makes the stool soft and bulky, easier to pass.

Do not take Matiz-I Sachet 5 gm if you are allergic to ‘Mebeverine and Ispaghula’ or any other contents present in it. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, it is advised to consult a doctor before using Matiz-I Sachet 5 gm. Matiz-I Sachet 5 gm is not recommended for children and adolescents below 12 years of age. If you have had a history of acute porphyria (an enzyme deficiency in blood), heart disease, kidney disease, liver problems, and severe constipation, consult your doctor before taking Matiz-I Sachet 5 gm.  Let your doctor know if you use any prescription and non-prescription medications you are taking, including vitamins and herbal drugs, before starting Matiz-I Sachet 5 gm. It is important to drink plenty of water or fluids while you are taking Matiz-I Sachet 5 gm. 

Please consult a doctor if the symptoms persist or worsen after using Matiz-I Sachet 5 gm for more than 2 weeks.
