L Cin A Tablet 5's

About L Cin A Tablet 5's

L Cin A Tablet 5's belongs to a class of drugs called 'respiratory stimulants' (cough/sputum thinner) primarily used to treat acute (short term) and chronic (long term) respiratory diseases associated with excess mucus. Acute respiratory diseases are initially associated with dry, irritating cough, hoarseness in laryngitis (swelling of the voice box), or burning sensation in the chest due to bronchitis (swelling of the lining of bronchial tubes). Then, wet mucus forms, and continuous coughing out of sputum occurs. In chronic respiratory diseases, dry irritating cough and wet cough with mucus occur.

L Cin A Tablet 5's consists of two medicines: Ambroxol (dilutes viscous cough) and Levofloxacin (antibiotic). Ambroxol is a mucolytic that thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough. Levofloxacin comes into the category of antibiotic medicines that stop bacterial growth by inhibiting the two enzymes (bacterial topoisomerase IV and DNA gyrase) required for bacterial cell growth. As a result, bacterial cells are not able to reproduce and grow. It is a bacteriostatic antibiotic, i.e., it stops bacteria's growth but does not necessarily kill them. The addition of ambroxol enhances the antibacterial effect of levofloxacin.

L Cin A Tablet 5's should be taken as advised by your doctor. Take L Cin A Tablet 5's with/without food and swallow whole with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew, or break it. Some people may experience common side effects like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, dizziness, insomnia (difficulty sleeping), and allergic reactions. Most of these side effects of L Cin A Tablet 5's do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. If you experience any allergic reaction (rashes, itching, swelling, shortness of breath, etc.), you must seek immediate medical help.
