Do not take Laxikem Plus Mint Syrup if you are allergic to any of its contents; if you have/had acute abdominal surgery, intestinal obstruction, or undiagnosed abdominal pain. Drink plenty of fluids (at least 6-8 glasses) while taking Laxikem Plus Mint Syrup . Do not use Laxikem Plus Mint Syrup for more than 7 days unless advised by the doctor as it might cause dependency on Laxikem Plus Mint Syrup for a bowel movement. Talk to your doctor if you notice any sudden changes in bowel habits that persist for over 2 weeks. Consult your doctor before taking Laxikem Plus Mint Syrup if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Laxikem Plus Mint Syrup belongs to the group of medicines called laxatives used to treat constipation associated with piles, anal fissure, hernia, cardiovascular disorder, endoscopy, bowel clearance before radioscopy, pre/post-operative conditions, elderly and bed-ridden patients. Laxikem Plus Mint Syrup is a combination of three drugs: Sodium picosulphate, magnesium hydroxide, and liquid paraffin. Sodium picosulphate is a stimulant laxative that prevents the absorption of water in the colonic lumen and stimulates the colon's propulsive activity, thereby promoting water accumulation. Magnesium hydroxide is an osmotic laxative that increases the osmotic gradient in the gut by drawing the water into the intestine, thereby helping in bowel evacuation. Liquid paraffin is a lubricant which works by lubricating the bowels and softens the stools. Together, Laxikem Plus Mint Syrup helps in providing relief from constipation.

Liquid paraffin works by lubricating the bowels and softens the stools. Together, Laxikem Plus Mint Syrup helps in providing relief from constipation. 

You are advised to take Laxikem Plus Mint Syrup for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, Laxikem Plus Mint Syrup may cause certain common side effects such as diarrhoea, abdominal discomfort, pain or cramps. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.
