LAXECUTE 10 TABLET belongs to the group of medicines called stimulant laxatives used to treat short-term, occasional constipation. Constipation refers to infrequent bowel movements in which the stools are often dry, painful and hard to pass. Symptoms include incomplete bowel movements, dry, hard stools, which are difficult to pass.
LAXECUTE 10 TABLET contains ‘sodium picosulphate’, which stimulates mucosa in the large intestine and encourages the muscles in the bowel to move waste easily; this increases bowel motility. Thereby, LAXECUTE 10 TABLET helps in providing relief from constipation. LAXECUTE 10 TABLET may also be used to clear the bowel before medical examinations such as colonoscopy or surgery.
Take LAXECUTE 10 TABLET as prescribed. In some cases, LAXECUTE 10 TABLET may cause common side effects, such as diarrhoea, abdominal pain/cramps, and abdominal discomfort. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.
Consult your doctor before taking LAXECUTE 10 TABLET if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not take LAXECUTE 10 TABLET for more than a week as it might cause dependency on LAXECUTE 10 TABLET for a bowel movement. Drink plenty of fluids whilst taking LAXECUTE 10 TABLET to prevent dehydration. LAXECUTE 10 TABLET should be given to children only if prescribed by the doctor.
