About K-Ion 10mg Tablet
K-Ion 10mg Tablet belongs to a class of medication called 'vasodilators' used to prevent or treat angina pectoris (heart-related chest pain) in adults who cannot take beta-blockers (blood pressure-lowering pills). Angina pectoris is a kind of chest pain due to decreased blood flow to the heart. It is a symptom of coronary artery disease.
K-Ion 10mg Tablet contains Nicorandil, a potassium-channel activator that opens potassium channels present on the muscle cells within the walls of blood vessels and relaxes these muscle cells and widens blood vessels. Thereby, K-Ion 10mg Tablet reduces the heart's workload by making it easier for the heart to pump blood around the body and does not require much oxygen. Also, K-Ion 10mg Tablet helps to prevent angina by increasing oxygen and blood supply to the heart muscle by widening coronary arteries within the heart.
Take K-Ion 10mg Tablet as prescribed by your doctor. You are advised to take K-Ion 10mg Tablet for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. Some people may experience headache, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, weakness, flushing (reddening of the skin) or very fast, forceful or uneven heartbeat. Most of these side effects of K-Ion 10mg Tablet do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist, please consult your doctor.
If you are allergic to K-Ion 10mg Tablet or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Do not take K-Ion 10mg Tablet if you are pregnant or breastfeeding and consult a doctor. K-Ion 10mg Tablet is not recommended for children as the safety and effectiveness were not established. Drive only if you are alert as K-Ion 10mg Tablet may cause dizziness or weakness.
