About Heximar B Ointment
Heximar B Ointment is used to treat psoriasis vulgaris. Psoriasis is a skin disorder in which skin cells multiply faster than usual. This causes scaling, redness, and thickness of the skin. Psoriasis is a chronic condition with no cure, but treatment aims to remove scales and stop skin cells from growing quickly.
Heximar B Ointment is a combination of two medicines, namely: Betamethasone and Calcipotriol. Betamethasone works by inhibiting the release of chemical messengers that cause inflammation and redness. Calcipotriol helps in bringing the rate of skin cell growth back to normal. Together, Heximar B Ointment helps in treating psoriasis.
You are advised to use Heximar B Ointment for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. In some cases, Heximar B Ointment may cause common side effects such as itching and skin exfoliation. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.
Do not use Heximar B Ointment if you had a skin reaction or irritation to any steroid medicine. Consult your doctor before using Heximar B Ointment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not use Heximar B Ointment in more than prescribed doses or on a large area of skin for a longer duration, as it may cause adverse effects. Do not wrap or cover the treated area with a bandage unless advised by your doctor. Heximar B Ointment is not recommended for children below 18 years.

Avoid using Heximar B Ointment on skin affected by the virus, fungi, bacteria, parasites, perioral dermatitis, thin skin, acne, rosacea, ulcers or broken skin. Inform your doctor if you have/had skin reaction or irritation to any steroid medicine, diabetes, guttate psoriasis, kidney or liver disease or if you are using other medicines containing steroids. Consult your doctor before using Heximar B Ointment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not use Heximar B Ointment in more than prescribed doses or on a large area of skin for a longer duration, as it may cause adverse effects. - Do not use Heximar B Ointment on dressing, band-aids and make-up unless told by the doctor.
- If Heximar B Ointment comes in contact with eyes, nose or mouth, rinse with water immediately.
- Wash your hands before and after using Heximar B Ointment; however, do not wash your hands if you are applying Heximar B Ointment on your hands.
- Do not apply Heximar B Ointment on wounds, cuts, damaged skin, or scrapes.
- Avoid exposing fabric that has been in contact with Heximar B Ointment to smoke or naked flames.
