About Gestone 400 mg Capsule

Gestone 400 mg Capsule belongs to the class of medicines known as hormones used to treat female infertility and to aid pregnancy. It is also used to restore the menstrual cycle in women who have missed their periods. Female infertility is a condition in which a female body is unable to conceive despite regular, unprotected sexual intercourse for at least one year.

Gestone 400 mg Capsule contains progesterone, a female hormone that regulates ovulation and menstruation in women. Gestone 400 mg Capsule induces secretory changes in the endometrium lining of the uterus, relaxes the uterus, blocks the maturation and release of follicles and maintains pregnancy.

Use Gestone 400 mg Capsule as directed by your doctor. It is intended for intra-vaginal use only. In some cases, Gestone 400 mg Capsule may cause abdominal pain, headache, constipation, nausea, and breast pain/enlargement. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor.

Before using Gestone 400 mg Capsule inform your doctor if you have/had liver or kidney problems, heart problems, diabetes, asthma, epilepsy, migraine or depression. Let your doctor know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Keep your doctor informed about your health condition and all the medicines you are taking to rule out any side effects/interactions. Gestone 400 mg Capsule contains progesterone, which helps ovulation and menstruation. Gestone 400 mg Capsule causes secretory changes in the uterine endometrium, relaxes the uterus, prevents follicle maturation, and helps to maintain pregnancy.

Directions for Use

Vaginal spray: Check the label for directions before using the spray. Shake well before each use. Spray the contents from a 5cm distance on the affected area.Vaginal gel: Apply the gel into the vagina using the applicator.

When Gestone 400 mg Capsule is taken with Edoxaban, may increase the blood levels of Edoxaban which increases the risk of serious bleeding complications.

How to manage the interaction:
Although taking Gestone 400 mg Capsule and edoxaban together can result in an interaction, it can be taken if a doctor has prescribed it. However, if you experience any unusual bleeding or bruising, dizziness, lightheadedness, red or black, tarry stools, coughing up or vomiting fresh or dried blood that resembles coffee grounds, severe headache, and weakness, you should consult a doctor. Do not discontinue any medications without a doctor's advice.
