Do not take Gelusil Xtra Cool Liquid 170 ml if you are allergic to any of its contents, debilitated (very weak). Inform your doctor if you have severe stomach pain, partially or fully blocked bowel, low phosphate levels, high magnesium levels, kidney or liver problems; if you are on a low-phosphate diet. Consult your doctor before taking Gelusil Xtra Cool Liquid 170 ml if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Avoid consuming alcohol along with Gelusil Xtra Cool Liquid 170 ml as it could lead to increased acidity.

Gelusil Xtra Cool Liquid 170 ml belongs to a group of medicines called antacids used to treat acidity, heartburn, indigestion, gastritis (inflammation of the stomach), and stomach upset. Gelusil Xtra Cool Liquid 170 ml is a combination of three drugs: Aluminium hydroxide (antacid), magnesium hydroxide (antacid) and dimethicone (antiflatulent). Aluminium hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide works by neutralising excess stomach acid. Dimethicone works by decreasing the surface tension of gas bubbles, thereby facilitating gas expulsion through flatus or belching (burping). It also prevents accumulation and formation of gas in the digestive tract.
