Fusigen Ointment 5 gm belongs to the group of medicines called ‘antibiotics’ used to treat bacterial skin infections such as impetigo, infected cuts and abrasions, infected eczema and contact dermatitis. 
 
Fusigen Ointment 5 gm contains ‘Sodium fusidate’ that works by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required for the survival of the bacteria. Thereby, Fusigen Ointment 5 gm helps in treating skin infections.
 
Fusigen Ointment 5 gm is generally well-tolerated. However, it may cause mild stinging sensation and irritation in some cases. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. If the side effects persist or worsen, consult your doctor.
 
Do not use Fusigen Ointment 5 gm if you are allergic to any of its components. Consult your doctor before using Fusigen Ointment 5 gm if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Avoid contact of Fusigen Ointment 5 gm with eyes, nose or mouth; if contact occurs accidentally, rinse thoroughly with water.

Do not wrap or cover the treated area with a bandage unless advised by your doctor. If your condition does not improve despite using Fusigen Ointment 5 gm for a few days, consult your doctor. Let your doctor know if you are taking any prescription/non-prescription medicines, including supplements or herbal products.

• Do not use Fusigen Ointment 5 gm on dressing, band-aids and make-up unless told by the doctor.
• If Fusigen Ointment 5 gm comes in contact with eyes, nose or mouth, rinse with water immediately.
• Wash your hands before and after using Fusigen Ointment 5 gm; however, do not wash your hands if you are applying Fusigen Ointment 5 gm on your hands.

• Eat foods rich in quercetin (a flavonoid), such as apples, cherries, broccoli, spinach and blueberries.
• Consuming food rich in probiotics helps in developing the immune system against allergies.
• Avoid the consumption of foods with excess sugar, as it may flare up inflammation.
• Include fruits, vegetables, whole grains, healthy fats and fish in your diet.
• Reducing stress and maintaining a good sleep cycle would be helpful.
• Avoid getting in contact with harsh soaps, detergents and rough fabrics.
