About Folitrax LP 1% Gel

Folitrax LP 1% Gel belongs to the class of medicines called 'anti-metabolites and immunosuppressants' used to treat severe psoriasis. Psoriasis is a skin disorder in which skin cells multiply faster than usual. This causes scaling, redness, and thickness of the skin. Psoriatic patches generally occur on the knees, elbows, scalp, and lower back.

Folitrax LP 1% Gel contains 'Methotrexate', which works by suppressing the overactive immune system that is responsible for causing psoriasis.

In some cases, Folitrax LP 1% Gel may cause common side-effects such as nausea, vomiting, fatigue, mouth sores, and loss of appetite. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side effects persistently.

Consult your doctor if you have a weak immune system, low blood cell count, liver or kidney problems. Do not use Folitrax LP 1% Gel if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Avoid consuming alcohol whilst on treatment with Folitrax LP 1% Gel. Inform your doctor about your medications and health condition to rule out any unpleasant side effects/interactions.

Folitrax LP 1% Gel belongs to the class of medicines called 'anti-metabolites and immunosuppressants' used to treat severe psoriasis. Folitrax LP 1% Gel may also be used to treat eczema/dermatitis, rheumatoid arthritis, and psoriatic arthritis.

Directions for Use

Folitrax LP 1% Gel is for external use only. Use Folitrax LP 1% Gel as advised by the doctor. Apply Folitrax LP 1% Gel only on the patches of psoriasis.

Drug Warnings
