FM Derma Ointment 10 gm contains Fluticasone propionate and mupirocin. FM Derma Ointment 10 gm is used in the treatment of skin infections. Fluticasone topical is used to reduce inflammation and relieve itching, redness, dryness and scaling associated with various skin conditions, whereas mupirocin kills bacteria by destroying the bacterial cell membrane.
FM Derma Ointment 10 gm is a combination of fluticasone dipropionate and mupirocin. Fluticasone propionate blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy. Mupirocin works by stopping the production of necessary proteins needed for bacterial surveillance. It is also active against Gram-negative organisms such as Escherichia coli and Haemophilus influenza. It is not effective against fungal or viral infections.
FM Derma Ointment 10 gm should only be taken if advised by your doctor. This cream should not be used on children below 2 months of age. FM Derma Ointment 10 gm should be used for skin only, and accidentally if it gets into your eye, mouth or nose, rinse with water. FM Derma Ointment 10 gm should be applied to the affected area with a piece of clean cotton wool or gauze swab. FM Derma Ointment 10 gm should not be applied more than the recommended dose to avoid unpleasant side effects. Some common side effects of FM Derma Ointment 10 gm are burning, itching, redness, stinging and dryness on your skin in the place where FM Derma Ointment 10 gm ointment is applied. If nursing mothers apply FM Derma Ointment 10 gm to their breasts or nipple, they should wash the affected area thoroughly before nursing their babies. Do not cover the area being treated with airtight dressings such as bandages unless directed by a doctor, as this may increase the risk of side effects. Inform your doctor if the treated skin area does not improve after 2-4 weeks of treatment.
