About Fluwel Tablet 10's

Fluwel Tablet 10's belongs to the class of medications called ‘antidepressants' primarily used for the treatment of depression, which is a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest. Depression is also called a major depressive disorder or clinical depression, it affects how you feel, think and behave and can lead to various emotional and physical problems.

Fluwel Tablet 10's contains a combination of two medicines called alprazolam and fluoxetine. Alprazolam is a benzodiazepine (BZD) that increases the action of GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid), a chemical messenger that suppresses the abnormal activity of the nerve cells in the brain. Fluoxetine is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) that increases serotonin levels, a chemical messenger that improves mood.

Take this Fluwel Tablet 10's in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole with a glass of water. Do not chew, crush or break it. Fluwel Tablet 10's may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time. Fluwel Tablet 10's may cause common side effects like nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, confusion, memory impairment, drowsiness, tiredness, low sexual desire, and uncoordinated body movements. These side effects do not require any medical attention and resolve on their own. If any of these effects persist, contact your doctor immediately.

If you are known to be allergic to Fluwel Tablet 10's or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Do not take Fluwel Tablet 10's if you are pregnant or breastfeeding as it may cause adverse effects in the baby. Inform your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems, closed-angle glaucoma, cardiac diseases, bleeding disorders, epilepsy and electro-convulsive therapy before taking Fluwel Tablet 10's. Also, inform your doctor about diabetes and pulmonary insufficiency before taking Fluwel Tablet 10's.

Drug-Drug Interaction: Fluwel Tablet 10's may have interaction with any other medicines like cardiac-glycosides (digoxin), anti-coagulant(warfarin), anti-psychotic (haloperidol, diazepam),anti-histamines(cimetidine), antiparkinson drugs (levodopa), anti-depressant (lithium, phenelzine, selegiline, aminophylline, imipramine), anti-mycobacterial (rifampicin, isoniazid).

Drug-Food Interaction: Fluwel Tablet 10's may interact with alcohol. Therefore, avoid consuming alcohol while taking Fluwel Tablet 10's as it may increase side effects such as drowsiness, dizziness, or difficulty in concentrating.

Drug-Disease Interaction: If you have closure-angle glaucoma, myasthenia gravis(muscle weakness), pulmonary insufficiency, kidney/liver problems, diabetes, cardiac diseases, bleeding disorders, and epilepsy, inform your doctor before taking Fluwel Tablet 10's.
