Fludocyte 50 Injection 2 ml belongs to a group of anticancer medicines called purine analogue used in the treatment of chronic lymphocytic leukaemia. Leukaemia, also known as blood cancer, is a cancer of blood cells or blood-forming tissues. It causes excessive production of immature white blood cells by the bone marrow and reduces the body’s ability to fight infections.
Fludocyte 50 Injection 2 ml contains Fludarabine, which works by inhibiting DNA synthesis (responsible for DNA elongation, synthesis, and repair) in cancer cells by interfering with the ribonucleotide reductase and DNA polymerase enzymes. Thus, Fludocyte 50 Injection 2 ml slows or stops the growth of cancer cells in the body.
Fludocyte 50 Injection 2 ml may cause certain side effects such as fever, chills, hair loss, depression, fatigue, vomiting, nausea, headache, cough, constipation, oedema, weakness, and pain at the site of injection. Most of these side effects of Fludocyte 50 Injection 2 ml do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please seek medical help. A trained healthcare professional will administer Fludocyte 50 Injection 2 ml. Hence, do not self-administer.
