Flemnil Syrup

Flemnil Syrup is a respiratory medication used to treat a cough with mucus, stuffy nose, sinus congestion, and chest congestion caused by the common cold. Coughing occurs as a reflex action in the throat when there is mucus or any other foreign irritant in it. The common cold is a respiratory illness that affects nose and throat and is caused by viruses known as 'rhinoviruses'. The virus enters the body through nose, mouth or eyes and spreads easily through air droplets when a sick person sneezes, coughs or talks. 

Flemnil Syrup consists of Guaifenesin (expectorant), Bromhexine (mucolytic agent), and Phenylephrine (decongestant). Guaifenesin is an expectorant that reduces the thickness or viscosity of bronchial secretions (phlegm) and increases mucus flow making it easier to cough. Bromhexine is a mucolytic agent that causes thinning of the mucus in the airways and makes it easier to cough out. Phenylephrine is a decongestant that works by contracting and narrowing the blood vessels. Thus, Flemnil Syrup helps relieve cough with mucus due to respiratory infection, allergy, common cold, asthma and Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) conditions. 

Take Flemnil Syrup regularly at a fixed time. Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of the course based on the severity of your congestion. Like every other medication, Flemnil Syrup also has common side effects like nausea, indigestion, loss of appetite, bloating, diarrhoea, vomiting, stomach pain, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, sweating, skin rash, itching, and insomnia. These side effects, if occurred, generally go away during the treatment. However, if the side effects are persistent, please reach out to your doctor.

Let your doctor know if you have any allergic reactions to Flemnil Syrup or any other medications. It is important to inform your doctor if you have heart, liver or kidney diseases, overactive thyroid, blood circulation problems, high blood pressure, urination problems, stomach ulcer, diabetes, lung disorders, immune system problems (HIV/AIDS), prostate enlargement, glaucoma, and difficulty breathing before taking Flemnil Syrup . Check with your doctor if you plan to conceive, are pregnant, or breastfeeding before using Flemnil Syrup . This medicine causes sleepiness, so do not drive or operate machinery until you are mentally alert. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking Flemnil Syrup as it can worsen drowsiness.

Flemnil Syrup treats cough with mucus, chest congestion and common cold symptoms. It consists of three medicines: Guaifenesin, Bromhexine, and Phenylephrine. Flemnil Syrup should be used with caution in patients with heart, liver or kidney diseases, diabetes, overactive thyroid, blood circulation problems, high blood pressure, urination problems, stomach ulcer, lung disorders, immune system problems (HIV/AIDS), prostate enlargement, glaucoma, and difficulty breathing. If you are undergoing chemotherapy, please let your doctor know before starting Flemnil Syrup . Pregnant and breastfeeding women should use Flemnil Syrup with proper consultation and caution. Avoid consuming alcohol with Flemnil Syrup as it could lead to increased drowsiness or dizziness. Flemnil Syrup may make you feel sleepy or dizzy, do not drive or do any physical activity that requires mental alertness.

Flemnil Syrup may affect blood sugar levels, hence regularly monitor your blood glucose levels. Inform your diabetologist if you notice frequent or unusual changes in your sugar levels.
