About Fastclav 250mg Tablet 6's
Fastclav 250mg Tablet 6's belongs to the group of medicines called antibiotics used to treat various bacterial infections such as pharyngitis/tonsillitis (throat infections), otitis media (ear infections), sinusitis (infection of the sinuses), gonorrhoea (sexually transmitted disease), Lyme disease, septicaemia (bloodstream infection), meningitis (inflammation of the brain and spinal cord), lower respiratory tract, skin, urinary tract, bone, and joint infections.
Fastclav 250mg Tablet 6's is a combination of two antibiotics, namely: Cefuroxime (cephalosporin antibiotic) and Clavulanic acid (beta-lactamase inhibitor). Cefuroxime works by preventing the formation of bacterial cell covering, which is necessary for their survival. Thereby, kills the bacteria. Clavulanic acid works by decreasing bacterial resistance and enhancing the activity of cefuroxime against the bacteria. Together, Fastclav 250mg Tablet 6's helps to treat bacterial infections.
Take Fastclav 250mg Tablet 6's with or without food. The dose and duration of Fastclav 250mg Tablet 6's can vary depending upon your condition and severity of the infection. In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as diarrhoea, abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.
Before starting Fastclav 250mg Tablet 6's, please inform your doctor if you have any allergy (against any antibiotic), kidney or liver problems. Do not take Fastclav 250mg Tablet 6's on your own as self-medication may lead to antibiotic-resistance in which antibiotics fail to act against specific bacterial infections. Consult your doctor before taking Fastclav 250mg Tablet 6's if you are pregnant or planning for pregnancy. Avoid taking Fastclav 250mg Tablet 6's if you are breastfeeding as Fastclav 250mg Tablet 6's may pass into breast milk. Avoid alcohol consumption while taking Fastclav 250mg Tablet 6's to prevent unpleasant side-effects.
