Exocin Eye Ointment 5 gm belongs to the class of medicines called antibiotics used to treat bacterial eye infections including conjunctivitis and ulcers of the cornea. Conjunctivitis (pink eye) is a common bacterial eye infection associated with the inflammation or infection of the conjunctiva (white part of the eye) and the inner eyelid. 

Exocin Eye Ointment 5 gm contains Ofloxacin which works by inhibiting DNA gyrase (bacterial enzyme) involved in repairing and replicating the DNA (genetic material) of bacteria. Thereby, kills bacteria and clears infection.

Use Exocin Eye Ointment 5 gm as prescribed by your doctor. Exocin Eye Ointment 5 gm is only for use in eyes. You are advised to use Exocin Eye Ointment 5 gm for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you based on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience dry eyes, blurred vision, eye discomfort, eye redness, mild itching, or irritation in the eye. Most of these side effects of Exocin Eye Ointment 5 gm do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor. 

If you are allergic to Exocin Eye Ointment 5 gm or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. Exocin Eye Ointment 5 gm should be used for children only in doses as advised by the doctor. Drive only if your vision is clear as Exocin Eye Ointment 5 gm may cause temporary blurred vision immediately after using. You are advised to remove soft contact lenses before using Exocin Eye Ointment 5 gm.
