About Ear Wel Drops 5ml
Ear Wel Drops 5ml is a combination medicine used to treat pain and inflammation associated with ear infections caused by bacteria and fungi. An ear infection occurs when fungi or bacteria affect the middle or outer ear, leading to pain and inflammation. Infection of the middle ear (air-filled space behind the eardrum) is known as otitis media whereas the inflammation of the external/outer ear canal that runs from the eardrum to the outside of the head is known as otitis externa.
Ear Wel Drops 5ml contains Chloramphenicol (antibiotic), Clotrimazole (antifungal), Beclomethasone (steroid), and Lidocaine (local anaesthetic). Chloramphenicol kills the bacteria by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required for the survival of bacteria. Clotrimazole kills the fungi by breaking down the fungal cell wall/protective covering. Beclomethasone reduces inflammation by blocking the chemical messengers that cause inflammation. Lidocaine decreases pain sensation by blocking the pain signals from the nerves to the brain. Together, Ear Wel Drops 5ml treats infections of the ear.
